This year marks the Coronation of His Majesty The King Charles III. In this session specially created for this historic occasion, pupils can take part in an exploration of historical coronation stories from across the centuries through paintings, symbols and spaces found in the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Pupils will seek the different components necessary for a Coronation to take place as they visit the rooms of the Palace, from crowns to ciphers, before using their findings and designs to create a Coronation portrait.
Visit includes access to: Great Stair, Dining Room, Throne Room, Privy Chamber, King's Bedchamber, Great Gallery, Holyrood Abbey, Palace Gardens and Abbey Strand Learning Centre.
Facilitated session lasts: 2 hours
