Photograph of male and female children taking part in a maypole dance. The children wear sashes featuring three stripes and each hold a ribbon attached to the maypole. A quarter of the pole is covered with intertwined ribbons. Behind the pole, a group of adults and children watch the dance. The dance was held in Knottingley, West Yorkshire in celebration of the Coronation of King George VI (1895-1952).
