A page of nine photographs showing King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra dressed for the State Opening of Parliament, which was on 14 February 1901. They are shown posing in a photographic session with the professional photographer William Edward Downey (1855-1908), for W&D Downey. Princess Victoria attended the session and photographed her parents from the side of the room, where the supporting head-rests clamps could easily be seen behind each person.
