This looks like the preparatory work for the coloured plate in Robert Whittaker's 'Ceremony of the Coronation of George IV' published in 1832. It is impossible to identify the artist. Looking towards the West end of Westminster Abbey with George IV enthroned centre, in coronation robes; on the right the Archbishop of Canterbury places the crown on the King's head; the peers are gathered on both sides of the throne. Most of these can be identified, from left to right: Henry Pelham, 4th Duke of Newcastle (1785-1851); Hugh Percy, 3rd Duke of Northumberland (1785-1847); Lord Wellesley (1760-1842); Lord Eldon (1751-1838); the Duke of Devonshire (1790-1858); Edward Legge (1767-1827), Bishop of Oxford; the King; Charles Manners-Sutton (1755-1828), Archbishop of Canterbury; Bernard Howard, 12th Duke of Norfolk (1765-1842); John Manners, 5th Duke of Rutland (1778-1857); a bishop; Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (later King of the Belgians, 1790-1865); Lord Anglesey (1768-1854); Lord Hill (1772-1842); and the Duke of Wellington (1769-1852).
